Although it is 30C + here today the choice is do I listen to the piano lesson or do I jog?

If I jog then let’s do a different direction.

Lets jog around Yeronga Memorial park.

So named as a ‘sandy place’

Through the memorial Gates

As it is hot then it is legitimate to read the Information Boards

Yes remembering those 72 local men who died in World war 1.

Hence Honor Avenue line with alternating Fig & Flame trees with memorial plagues for each Fallen soldier.

Students from the neighbouring State School tend each tree.

Then along the Avenue which curves because the Great Depression of the 1930 meant employment by councils for those desperate for any income.

How lucky we are today.

Past the rugby Ground where the Logo says Magpies into Wallabies.

Where I took my Dad there to see club rugby.

I still recall an ex Wallaby captain with a lease of 20+ rugby ties leading his beagle.

Then onto the Cenotaph which was built to remember the Fallen.

The local protest when the council & architect wanted their names there.

They were removed.

Rosemary planted as it argues the rosemary helps the memory.

Past the croquet club where I remember a fun day with my squash team mates.

Past the Blind Cricket Association clubhouse

Back through the Memorial Gates & onto a Killarney Street

It reminds us of a day in Killarney in 2010 and a horse Susie & a dray & Patric with an accent which I couldn’t understand.

Onto a Cork street  & we may attend a ‘clan’ name Gathering  in July 2020

Jogs the memory

Yes Sir
